Submission Policies
- Please email heidi.monroe@pitt.edu to schedule a consultation.
- All samples require a completed submission form: Single Cell Core Submission Form
- Fixed cells and tissues will be accepted Monday through Friday from 10am-4pm. Samples should be fixed according to 10X Genomics procedures and should be delivered on dry ice in clearly labelled 1.5mL Eppendorf tubes. Please email staff to ensure availability to receive and safely store your samples.
- Snap-frozen tissues for nuclei isolation or fixation will be accepted Monday through Friday from 10am-4pm. These should be delivered on dry ice in clearly labelled 1.5mL Eppendorf tubes. If stored for more than 3 days prior to submission tissues should be kept in LN2 rather than -80C. Please email staff to ensure availability to safely store your samples.
- Samples for 3' and 5' assays will be scheduled at least 2 weeks in advance. Appointments can be scheduled between 10am-12pm and 1pm-3pm. Please email staff if you are running more than 15 minutes early or late. We reserve the right to cancel if samples arrive more than 30 minutes after the scheduled time. We will not accept 3' or 5' samples later than 4pm Monday through Thursday or 12pm on Friday.
- Samples for scATAC and scMultiome assays will be scheduled at least 2 weeks in advance. Appointments can be scheduled between 10am-12pm. Please email staff if you are running more than 15 minutes early or late. We reserve the right to cancel if samples arrive more than 30 minutes after the scheduled time. We will not accept scATAC or scMultiome samples later than 1pm.
- We understand the time required for cell isolations can be extensive or unpredictable. Please keep the core updated if you cannot keep your appointment. There are 10X approved fixation methods available for use with 3’ and 5’ assays (including VDJ profiling and CITE-seq).
- If an exact date of submission is unknown (due to mouse breeding schedules, surgery schedules, etc.), please reach out to core staff.
Become an iLab User
The University of Pittsburgh utilizes a single centralized Pitt/iLab portal to assist researchers in acquiring shared university resources. To use iLab Core Facilities Management, registration for an iLab account is required. Instructions on how to register for an account are available under the Core Connector.
iLab software defines multiple roles, one of which will apply to each person. Roles fall under three categories: Personnel Roles, Core Facilities Management Roles, and University-Wide Roles. iLab training material is available for each of these roles under Using Core Facilities.
