- Equipment Design and Fabrication: The Electronics Shop designs and constructs custom circuit boards, controllers, and interfaces to meet the specific needs of Primary Investigators and student researchers.
- Equipment Repair and Maintenance: The Electronics Shop maintains and repairs a wide variety of electric and electronic equipment, including hotplate/stirrers, centrifuges, water baths, recirculating chillers, vacuum pumps (electric/electronic problems only, mechanical/pump problems need to go the Machine Shop), incubators, and a wide variety of other lab equipment.
- Lab owned IT assets: The Electronics Shop can troubleshoot and repair some problems with lab-owned (non Pitt IT owned, and non-network) CPUs and printers.
- Electronics Parts Inventory: The main Eberly Hall location stocks a limited selection of the most commonly used electrical and electronics parts for use in repairs or prototype construction.
