
The SMBC is a mass spectrometry resource of the Health Sciences Core Research Facilities (HSCRF) and Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI). It was established in 2009, and partially funded by two NIH shared instrument grants (S10RR023461 and S10OD028540). We have developed and validated numerous methods for the targeted quantitative analysis of small molecules in biological samples using state-of-the-art ultra-performance liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS/MS).
Our highly sensitive and specific UPLC-MS/MS methods allow users to obtain accurate quantitative measurements of multiple small molecules in a given sample, maximizing the ability to link basic science with preclinical and clinical outcomes. The robustness and reproducibility of our methods provide critical analytical support for successful execution of biomedical research.
