Tom is a Laboratory Research Technician at the HSSC. His responsibilities primarily include library preparation, bulk RNA sequencing, as well as managing data through Globus. Prior to joining the core, Tom had worked as a lab manager at the American Museum of Natural History from 2018 to 2020. In 2020, Tom began a Post-Baccalaureate Fellowship with the USDA working to develop genetic methods of identifying crop pest species. After his
fellowship, Tom relocated to Alabama where he earned his Masters of Science at the University of Alabama. After receiving his degree, Tom moved to Pittsburgh and started at the HSSC in the fall of 2024.
