Rania is a Laboratory Manager at the University of Pittsburgh’s Health Sciences Core (HSSC). She manages bulk RNA sequencing projects, quality control testing, and sequencing of submitted samples and libraries, working closely with clients to support whole-transcriptome and transcriptome sequencing projects, as well as Visium spatial transcriptomics workflows.
Rania has over seven years of experience in next-generation sequencing, laboratory management, undergraduate student supervision, sample processing, gene expression analysis, and high-throughput sequencing workflows. Prior to joining the HSSC, she worked in research laboratories at the University of Pittsburgh, where she performed routine molecular biology techniques, including PCR, qPCR, nucleic acid quality control, gel electrophoresis, gene cloning, plasmid preparation, and bacterial transformation.
Rania earned her master’s degree in Human Genetics from the University of Pittsburgh School of Public Health
