The Waters GPC is used to determine the size of polymers using gel-permeation chromatography. Eluting polymers are detected using differential refractive index measurements and/or multi-angle light scattering (MALS). The instrument is set up using divinylbenzene columns and tetrahydrofuran (THF) as the solvent. The MALS detector can also be used as a stand alone (batch) instrument.
